There is one thing my dad taught me that has stuck with and will guide me for the rest of my life. It's a pretty simple concept that is easy to miss. This lesson did not come from a book, a sermon, a life lesson on the job and it's not even an old Indian trick. It was a lesson taught by the way he lives his life, the way he spends his time and what is important to him.
This lesson is figure out what the most important thing in life is and make your life all about that. He uses the old slogan "the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing".
It should not be surprising that my life verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether than you eat or drink or whatever you do; do all for the glory of God." And the church we call home uses Galations 5:6, "the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself in love." as it's main verse.
Thanks dad for living your life with a singular focus and purpose and modeling a life lived for the Glory of Christ.
